Nov 2013 – CGIS has conducted its first trial run of a flow demonstration loop at its Vancouver automation facility. The Control & Isolation Demonstrator, also referred to as CID, is designed to show valve specifiers, engineers and our supply partners the objective result of valve performance.
The main loop consists of a 4″ sch.10 stainless steel pipe with three parallel sections of clear PVC piping to enable the direct visual inspection of fluid dynamics, valve performance and the difference between good-enough and the best valve for the application. The parallel piping sections allow comparison in real time of up to three valves at the same time. CID will be used to invite clients to visit our Vancouver facility in person, to watch real valve performance, to request alternative installation and trails, and to provide a basis for valve selection that removes doubt and guesswork.Read More
